Function
On the desktop you can choose between different views. They help you follow the person in VR, get an overview of the planning or make video recordings easier.
These views are available:
- VR view
- Spectator mode
- Top view
- Free camera
- Orbit camera
The views are available in Halocline Layout and Halocline Performance. In Halocline Assembly you can currently choose between VR view, spectator mode and free camera.
In all views you see the dimensions, movement areas and walking paths created in VR.
Instructions
Select the view from the drop-down menu at the top right.
VR view
Here you see 1:1 what the person in VR sees. This view is the default because it has the least impact on the runtime behavior of the application.
Choose this view if you are working alone, or if your computer is under heavy load and the other views stutter.
Spectator mode
Here you see a smoothed view of the person in VR. Smaller movements and rotations of the head are filtered out to give a steadier image.
Choose this mode when people are watching you on the desktop, or for video recordings.
Top view
The top view shows the shopfloor from above. You change the section with the mouse or with the controls at the bottom right.
Hold down the right mouse button to move the section. Use the mouse wheel to zoom in or out. Rotate the view with the left and right arrows.
If the hall ceiling or columns are in the way, you can adjust the camera height: move the small camera at the bottom right or enter the desired height in the field.
Choose this view to get an overview or to create screenshots for documentation.
- Move: right mouse button or camera settings > arrows
- Zoom: mouse wheel or camera settings > plus and minus
- Rotate view: camera settings > rotate arrows
- Camera height: camera settings > input field
Free camera
In this view you move freely through the hall from the desktop.
Use W, A, S, D or the arrow keys to fly forward, left, right or back. Hold down the right mouse button to turn. Use Q and E to move up or down. Hold Shift while flying to speed up, or Ctrl to slow down.
The person in VR can see where the free camera is. This lets you draw attention to something or guide the person to a location. In VR, the camera can be grabbed with the trigger and aligned for the viewers.
Choose this view if you are working in pairs or want to create time-lapse recordings.
- Move: W, A, S, D, arrow keys or camera settings > arrows
- Zoom: mouse wheel or camera settings > plus and minus
- Rotate: right mouse button
- Camera height: Q, E
- Speed: Shift, Ctrl
Orbit camera
This view always points at the person in VR and automatically teleports along with them.
Use the mouse wheel to set your distance to the person in VR. Hold down the right mouse button to move around them.
Choose this mode to give viewers a better overview of the work in VR.
- Zoom: mouse wheel
- Rotate: right mouse button
