With Halocline Web, you plan directly in your browser — no installation required. This article walks you through the first steps: from login to your first sketch to a validated solution.
Requirements
- A current browser (e.g. Chrome, Edge, or Firefox).
- A Halocline user account. If your organization already uses Halocline Desktop: a login from version 2026.1 or newer is required. Older logins (2025.3 or earlier) are not compatible — in that case, contact your Halocline administrator.
- Your user account must be enabled for the beta. To request this, contact helpdesk@halocline.io
Instructions
- Open the address halocline.app in your browser.
- Log in with your Halocline user account.
- You land directly in your organization's workspace. Halocline Web is a cloud application — all Spaces, layouts, and objects are available at the same state as for your colleagues, without any installation or data transfer.
Step 1: Sketch your layout
A Space is your planning environment. It can be a hall, an area, or a line. Create a new Space in the Spaces section of the Home window, or open an existing one your team is already working on. Every Space can later also be opened in Halocline XR on the headset.
You can open any Space for 3D planning. Plan directly in the browser using the Standard Library: ready-made objects such as machines, workstations, shelves, and tools. Various features are available for easily creating organized layouts. All objects are also customizable — no CAD experience required.
If you're also a user of Halocline Desktop, you can export plans from there as .halovariant and import them into your Space. Currently, all objects are displayed as boxes only when imported this way. You'll find the import option in the Space's detail view.
Step 2: Validate & optimize
Validating is not a one-time step — it accompanies your project throughout the entire planning period, with different stakeholders, in different ways.
In the browser: All users in an organization can open the same Spaces. Badges show who is currently viewing a Space. Changes to a Space are visible instantly on all connected devices — this lets you run collaborative sessions and screen shares with colleagues.
On-site or in a virtual walkthrough: For walkthroughs with workers directly on the shop floor, or with decision-makers regardless of their location, switch to Halocline XR on the Meta Quest: see Getting Started with Halocline XR. Changes made there are instantly visible here in the browser as well.
Step 3: Export your sketch
Once your layout is agreed upon with everyone involved, you can export it. In the Space's detail view, open the ...menu next to the Space name and select Export .halovariant. The file is downloaded as .halovariant.
If you're also a user of our Halocline Desktop application, you can import the exported file directly into Halocline Layout and continue working on it there.
More export formats will be available for this step soon.
