In the Library, you manage all your content in one central place. You create collections and folders, organize your content by drag and drop, and export entire collections with a single click.
Whether imported CAD data, load carriers, or reach distance avatars — the Library is where all your objects come together. From here, you manage them and make them available for planning in Halocline Layout.
The left column is divided into two areas: your own content is located under "Local," while the content provided by Halocline appears below it in the "Public" area. Public collections are protected against accidental changes. This means you find all public content directly in your Library — the detour via library.halocline.io is no longer necessary. In the center, you see the objects of the selected collection as a list with a preview image (thumbnail), name, and creation date.
You organize your content using folders and collections: a collection contains the actual elements, while a folder bundles several collections. A single element can appear in any number of collections at the same time. For example, you can create a "Projects" folder in which each project is its own collection. Anything that is not yet assigned to a collection automatically ends up in the "Unsorted" collection.
Within the Library, you add new content, move it by drag and drop, rename it, export it, and quickly find it again using the search. The following instructions guide you step by step through the individual functions.
Instructions
You open the Library from the start screen in the "Library" tab.
In the Local area, you structure your Library entirely to your own preferences.
Public content is listed on the left side below your local content and is protected against accidental changes.
1. Add Content
- Click the plus in the top right to add elements.
- In the menu, select what you want to add:
- CAD data: Imports CAD files into your Library so you can lay them out in Halocline Layout. More on this here: Options in CAD import
- Halocline data: Imports existing library elements in the .haloitem format.
- Load carrier: Creates a custom load carrier. More on this here: Custom load carriers
- Avatar: Creates a reach distance avatar. More on this here: Reach distance configurator
- Custom load carriers and reach distance avatars are only available in Halocline Professional.
2. Find Content
- Use the search at the top of the Library to find your content quickly.
- Sort the content using the "Name" and "Created on" columns.
- Each object is displayed as a thumbnail, so you can recognize your content at a glance.
Organize Content
You organize content in folders and collections: folders bundle several collections, while the actual elements are located in the collections. A single element can appear in any number of collections at the same time. Anything that is not yet assigned to a collection automatically ends up in the "Unsorted" collection.
3. Create Collections and Folders
- Open the "Start screen" and switch to the "Library" tab.
- In the "Local" area, click the plus symbol (+). → The "New Collection" window opens.
- Specify where the collection should be stored:
- "In the main area": The collection is created directly under "Local."
- "In a new folder": Enter a "Folder name" to place the collection in a new folder at the same time.
- "In an existing folder": Select a folder that already exists.
- Under "Collection name," enter a name for the collection.
- Click "Create."
4. Assign Elements
- Drag and drop your content into the desired collection or folder.
- Use the checkboxes to select several elements at once so you can move or export them together.
Manage Collection
- Move the mouse pointer over a collection and click the three-dot menu (⋮) — or alternatively right-click.
- In the context menu, select the desired action:
- "Rename": Assigns a new name to the collection.
- "Move": Moves the collection to a different folder.
- "Export": Exports the entire collection in a single step. More on the available formats here: Export data
- "Delete": Removes the collection.
Manage Folder
- Move the mouse pointer over a folder and click the three-dot menu (⋮) — or alternatively right-click.
- In the context menu, select the desired action:
- "Rename": Assigns a new name to the folder.
- "Delete": Removes the folder.
Note:
- The structure of the Library is also available to you in Halocline Layout.
- When your existing data is migrated, one collection is created per day.
- The thumbnails of the objects are generated after Halocline Layout starts.
- Assembly exports are automatically placed in their own collection for each source file.
Tip:
Use folders to bundle related collections — for example, create a "Projects" folder in which each project is its own collection. That way, you can later export related content with just a single click.
