The Halocline Cloud allows you to collaborate with your team on shared shopfloors across devices and locations.
To keep things running smoothly, one simple principle applies: you work on the same data one after another, not simultaneously. As soon as you open a work area or variant, it is reserved for you. Others can view the data during this time but cannot make changes. Your edits remain local while you are working in Layout and are uploaded to the cloud collectively only when you close it. If new changes from the cloud are available, you download them before you can edit the affected area again. This ensures that no one works on an outdated version and that no conflicts occur.
Every shopfloor initially exists locally on your device. You decide which ones you share with your organization via the cloud. Shared shopfloors can generally only be downloaded by members of your organization. You can specify further which users can access which shopfloors.
The cloud icon in the top right gives you a quick overview of your synchronization status – you can see at a glance whether you are online and whether new changes are available. Here you will also find the list of all shopfloors shared within your organization and can choose which ones you want to view and edit on your device.
Instructions
- Look at the cloud icon (1) in the top-right corner – it shows whether you are online or offline.
- Click on the icon to open the cloud window.
- See how many shopfloors are shared within your organization and how many of them are downloaded to your device.
- Check here if your data is up to date - if any changes are available, it will be shown here.
- Click on "Refresh Status" (2) to update the status manually, without waiting for the automatic updates.
Tip: Under “Manage Shared Data,” you can select which shopfloors from your organization you want to have available on your device. New shopfloors do not trigger automatic notifications, so be sure to check regularly to see if any have been added.
