When you edit a shared shopfloor, your changes are automatically synced with the cloud. A locking mechanism prevents simultaneous editing conflicts between multiple users.
Instructions
Edit Shopfloors
- Open a shared shopfloor for editing.
- Make your changes – work areas and variants will be automatically reserved for you when you switch.
- Close Layout when you're done.
→ All changes are collected and synchronized, and the data is made available to other users again.
Edits by other users
- When you're editing data, it's locked so other users can't edit it. A person icon lets you know when colleagues are currently making changes.
- You can open locked versions to view them, but you cannot edit them.
- If you switch to a version that already contains changes, you will be notified. Close Layout and reopen it to load the latest data.
Remove Data locally
- Delete work areas or variants: These will also be deleted in the cloud and removed for all other users as soon as they download the changes.
- Remove a shopfloor locally: Select “Remove” from the shopfloor's context menu. The shopfloor will be removed only from your device – the data in the cloud and on other devices will remain intact.
Tip: As long as you're working in Layout, your changes are saved locally – so your workflow remains uninterrupted. Synchronization with the cloud only occurs when you close Layout.
