All requirements for the Halocline web application at a glance – hardware, display resolution, and supported browsers. At the end, you'll also find notes on using it on tablets and mobile devices as well as on the native desktop application.
Hardware Requirements
For basic use, a current office laptop is sufficient. For professional use and larger projects, we recommend a mobile workstation (CAD laptop).
| Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| Processor | Intel Ultra 7 or comparable performance class | High-performance mobile workstation CPU |
| GPU | integrated or dedicated GPU (e.g. NVIDIA MX450 or higher) | dedicated GPU (same or newer generation): NVIDIA Quadro RTX 3000 MaxQ, RTX 2000 Ada, Quadro P5000 MaxQ, or RTX A3000 Mobile |
| RAM | at least 16 GB | at least 16 GB |
| Operating System | Windows 10, macOS, or Linux | Windows 11 |
Display Resolution
We recommend a minimum resolution of 1080 × 1920 pixels.
Browser Requirements
The web application is based on Unity WebGL and requires the browser to support WebGL 2, WebAssembly, HTML5, and 64-bit. Supported browsers:
Desktop
- Google Chrome: latest version recommended (Windows, macOS, Linux)
- Mozilla Firefox: latest version recommended (Windows, macOS, Linux)
- Microsoft Edge: version 79 or higher (Chromium-based only), (Windows, macOS, Linux)
- Apple Safari: version 15 or higher, macOS only (does not support IndexedDB for content in an iFrame)
Mobile
- iOS Safari: version 15 or higher
- Chrome for Android: version 58 or higher
Unity generally recommends using the latest browser version. On Linux, AAC codec support may need to be installed separately (e.g. via GStreamer).
Use on Tablet and Mobile Devices
You can also use the web application on tablets and mobile devices, provided you use a supported browser – iOS Safari version 15 or higher, or Chrome for Android version 58 or higher (see Browser Requirements above).
Native Desktop Application
In addition to the web application, Halocline is also available as a native desktop application. It is installed locally on your computer and additionally offers VR support. You can find the download at download.halocline.io.
