With Halocline Web and Halocline XR, you plan on the same data set: once in the browser, once directly in the room on the Meta Quest 3. This lets you conveniently prepare a layout at your computer and then experience it at 1:1 scale exactly where it will later stand.
This article shows you how the two platforms work together and how you can get the best of both worlds with the new XR app.
Requirements
- A current browser (e.g. Chrome, Edge, or Firefox) for Halocline Web.
- A Meta Quest 3 with the Halocline XR app installed.
- A login for Halocline 2026.1. A login from 2025.3 or older is not compatible. In that case, contact your Halocline administrator.
- You must be activated for the beta. Send your activation request to helpdesk@halocline.io.
One Plan, One Data Set
Halocline Web and Halocline XR access the same spaces. A space is your planning environment. That can be a hall, an area, or a line. You create it once, and it is immediately available to all devices and all colleagues in your organization.
This means: no export, no data transfer, no version conflicts. What you change in the browser, you see in the headset, and vice versa.
Tip: Sign in on all devices with the same Halocline login (2026.1). Older logins (2025.3 or older) are not supported.
Instructions
Step 1: Prepare in the Browser
Start with the rough planning in Halocline Web. The application runs without installation, and you only need a current browser.
- In your browser, open the address halocline.app and sign in with your Halocline user account.
- In the Spaces area of the Home Window, create a new space or open an existing one.
- Plan directly in the browser with the Standard Library: prebuilt objects such as machines, workstations, and shelves. You don't need any CAD experience for this.
- Adjust the size, position, and rotation of the objects and arrange your layout in a structured way.
Tip: Keep your layout flexible and simple at this stage. You can assess the details better later, directly in the headset.
You can find more on this under Getting Started with Halocline Web.
Step 2: Experience in XR
Once your rough layout is in place, you open the same space in the Halocline XR app on the Meta Quest 3. Here you experience your plan at 1:1 scale, fully in VR or as a mixed-reality overlay directly in the real hall.
- Install the Halocline XR app on your Meta Quest 3 and launch it.
- Before starting, set up a play area (Guardian) and make sure there is enough free space to move around safely.
- Put on the headset and pick up the two controllers.
- Sign in with your login for Halocline 2026.1. Enter your credentials using the VR keyboard.
- Open the space you prepared in the browser. You work on the same data set as your team.
- Walk through your layout in VR or overlay it true to scale as mixed reality in the real space. This way, you validate footprints, walkways, and ergonomics, before anything is physically moved.
Tip: The immersive perspective helps you spot space issues and optimization potential early, even before the first machine is delivered.
You can find more on this under Getting Started with Halocline XR.
Step 3: Collaborate in Real Time
All users in an organization can open the same spaces. Badges show who is currently viewing a space. Changes in a space are immediately visible on all connected devices.
This opens up new ways of working together: a colleague moves a workstation in the browser, and you see the change in your headset at the same moment. This way, you coordinate planning sessions between the office and the shop floor with no intermediate steps.
Tip: Use real-time synchronization for joint reviews. One person navigates through variants at the computer, while the other assesses the effects directly in the space using the headset.
When Do You Use What?
- Halocline Web is suited for quick rough planning, organizing spaces, and creating layout variants, anywhere and without installation.
- Halocline XR plays to its strengths when it comes to spatial understanding: experiencing the layout at real scale.
The greatest value comes from the interplay: set up roughly in the browser, refine and assess in the headset, always on the same data set.
